    Sept. 3, 1750, Samuel Perkins of Durham deeds to "my grandson, Dodipher Garland of Durham "his homestead estate, situated in Durham, in consideration of £1000 old tenor and support, &c., for and during his life." Since we know Dodivah’s grandparents, and they aren't Perkins, but it is said that his wife Mary Carter was the daughter of Frances Perkins who was the daugther of Samuel Perkins, we seem to have the right line for Mary Carter.
