Zachary Bicknell, his wife Agnes, their son john, and apprenticed servant John Kitchen, arrived in Boston from Somersetshire Emgland in June1635. The ship's company of more than  one hundred persons settled in Wessagusett, now Weymouth, Mass. Zachary died within a year after his  coming  . His son John married  and had twelve  children, three boys and nine girls. The three boys who preserved the name in America were : John (3) b. 1653-4; Zachariah (3) b 1668; Thomas (3) b 1670.
John and his descendants have ,  in the main , stayed in and around the home town; the rest body of his line  are to be found in the New England states principally  in MAssachusetts and Maine.
 Zachariah (3) removed to Swansea, MAss now Barrington RI . His descendants are to be chiefly found in Rhode Island, Connecticut, Vermont, New York Ohio, WIsconsin, Tennessee, INdiana, Kansas, Utah and California.
Thomas (3) settled in Bridgewater, MAss. His kine are to be found in Rhide Island, Ohio, Canada, Indiana, and the Central West.
