Charles Sevestre
Baptized on January 17, 1609 in Paris, Charles Sevestre married Marie Pichon around the age of
Eighteen in the church of St-Étienne-du-Mont in Paris. Charles was received by the printing
19 May 1633, in the presence of his peers, at the Royal College. He works with the Pelican
In the Rue des Amandiers. After his departure for New France, perhaps
Of the Compagnie des Cent-Associés, Charles Sevestre returned at least three
Paris, in 1643, 1650 and 1654.
Charles Sevestre and Marie Pichon have seven children, five of them born in New France

1653. Widowed on 3 July 1669, she remarried with Louis de Niort on 22
February 1672.
. Jeanne, baptized on 29 December 1641. She died and was buried on 5 January 1648.
. Catherine, born and baptized on 25 July 1645. She marries Louis Rouer de Villeray
19 February 1658.
. Charles, baptized on 20 November 1646. He drowned on 5 April 1661; His body is lost.
Successively trustee, provost judge,
First civilian and criminal private lieutenant
And finally clerk of the Quebec store,
Charles Sevestre died on December 8, 1657
And was buried the following day in the church of
Quebec, under the bench where he attended the masses.
Marie Pichon
We do not know when Marie Pichon was born; When she married Charles Sevestre in 1627,
She is already a widow of Philippe Gaultier de La Chesnaye, of whom she had at least two boys
And a daughter: Guillaume, Charles and Catherine, who will be studied later. Charles Sevestre
Adopts these children when he marries Marie Pichon and takes them to Canada.
Marie Pichon died on May 3, 1661. She was buried the next day, next to her husband.
Thomas Sevestre
The second son of Marguerite Petitpas was baptized on May 4, 1611. His life still remains

Etienne Sevestre
Sometimes confused with his brother Thomas, Étienne was born on 16 August 1617 and was baptized

Denise Sevestre draws up her will on March 6, 1694, by which she learns that she is

Descent, which explains the lack of renown for the surname Sevestre, although the
