..... Per genealogy compiled by Lawrence Brainerd in 1919: Lieut. and Deacon Samuel White,... was born Weymouth, MA in 1676. He was a life-long resident of the place and resided in what is now South Weymouth. He was prominent in church affairs and was elevated to the dignified office of Deacon Feb. 17, 1726. His title of Lieutenant which is found
in the death record of his wife and other places was derived from local military affiliations undoubtedly. He married in Weymouth about 1699, Anna Pratt, born in Weymouth, Sept. 24, 1682 and died there Sept. 14, 1757, aged 75, the daughter of Matthew and Sarah (Hunt) Pratt, this latter couple were deaf and dumb. Deacon White died in Weymouth, August 18, 1760, aged 84 years. .
