In a communication I received from a relative, he states that Jean Doiron, born in France, settled in Pisiquit, Nova Scotia. He died in Acadie. When Nova Scotia fell to the British, the Doiron family fled to Ile st. Jean (which is now Prince Edward Island). When the British later forcibly removed the Acadians from Ile St. Jean, Charles Doiron and his wife were put on a ship that sank while sailing to France. This shipwreck was famous for the tragic story of the three or four generations of Doiron that were on the ship and for the amazing warm regard exhibited by the elder Doiron and the others toward the ship's captain, who escaped by lifeboat and lived to recount the story in an official written account. See the story of The Duke William in this family tree.
